Hi, I’m Hadi Abilmona – a licensed clinical psychologist based in Beirut, Lebanon.
I created Sketches of the Self to bridge the gap between psychological theory and the everyday practice of psychotherapy. This space brings together professional insight, research-based knowledge, and my personal reflection to support both individuals and fellow mental health professionals.
Through my interactive blog and recommended resources, I share accessible information about psychological concepts to help you better understand yourself and the human experience.
Sketches of the Self is also a place to stay informed and engage with the evolving field of psychology.
Whether you are seeking to deepen your knowledge of mental health or work through personal challenges in therapy, you are welcome here!
Explore the site, reflect on what resonates, and reach out when you feel ready to begin individualized psychotherapy sessions in person or online.

Approach
In the therapy room, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can speak freely – without judgment and at your own pace.
My approach is integrative, with a foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Schema Therapy (ST). I tailor each session to your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based methods to guide our work together. I view therapy as a collaborative process: we work side by side to help you understand your thoughts and emotions, manage current challenges, and explore deeper patterns – often shaped by early relationships and past experiences.
Whether you are navigating a specific concern or exploring broader questions of identity and purpose, therapy can be a space where you re-sketch the missing pieces of your Self.
Together, we aim to uncover what holds you back and strengthen what helps you move forward – so you can live a more adaptive, meaningful, and authentic life that honors all parts of who you are.
